Last week, During Holi Vacation, I had been to the memorable family vacation to Jodhpur-Jaisalmer, the desert cities of Rajasthan.
The vacation was for two of the most beautiful ciites of Rajasthan – Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
From sightseeing tours, shopping options, camel rides and beautiful leisurly moments amids balmy desert breezes, the memories of this family vacation will be cherished for a long time to come.
The vacation started from Ghaziabad by picking my mom and dad and then the cab reached my residence in Gurgaon we had sumptuous lunch there prepared by my sweet wife. Later we moved to Jaipur, Rajasthan for overnight stay at my mother-in-laws place.
Early morning next day we left for Jodhpur. After reaching Jodhpur we start with sight-seeing. On hilltops, the Mehrangarh Fort is a show stealer in Jodhpur. Built in 1806, the alluring architecture of the fort ensures that every tourist in the city visits the fort.
The Jaswant Thada is a white marble cenotaph built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.
Then there is the 20th century Umaid Bhavan Palace, which is also known as the Chittar Palace because of the Chittar sandstones used to build it. The palace has now been converted into a luxury hotel. Which is also shown in bollywood flick Zubeidaa
Third Day of the tour Jodhpur – Jaisalmer, was mostly spent on NH-15, National Highway connecting Jodhpur to Jaisalmer.
Last day began with sightseeing, the prominent structure in town and its most prized possession which the 800 year old Jaisalmer Fort, popularly known as the Sonar Qila, with reference to its golden colour.
The other prominent attractions of the Golden City are its famous havelis – Patwon ki Haveli. Set in narrow lanes, these intricately carved structures are testimony to the rich artistic heritage of Jaisalmer.
After which we started our long journey by NH-15 from Jiasalmer to Jaipur via Bikaner
Overall the vacation was a memorable one and some breath-taking shots were captured during this trip. One of favorite I am sharing here.
