Amir Starrer Dhobi Ghaat, a Real Story
Aamir Khan’s new venture, Dhobi Ghaat, which is a much awaited movie this year. The movie is expected to be released in second half of this year 2010.
According to latest news the story of the movie is said to be based on a real life story. The movie is being crafted under the Documentary Drama genre. The movie in all is said to portray an altogether new concept much different from the ongoing movie tales and characters. With AK playing the part of a painter who owns a small studio in Mumbai, Prateik is touted to play the part of a dhobi. The movie is centered on the Dhobi Ghaat in Mumbai which is where the traditional dhobis live and earn bread from primarily.

The full cast of the movie is still not disclosed, but the announcements that stand official is that Amir Khan, will play one lead role. The second lead role is being played by Prateek Babbar (son of Raj Babbar) . Prateek has already shown us his acting talent in playing Ginelia’s brothers role in Jane Tu Ya Jane Na. So, Prateek has already worked in Aamir Khan camp. Initially thought of a cameo appearance in fact is a full-fledged part, turning the marketing gimmick into a rumor and then a reality now.

The movie is being directed by Kiran Rao (wife of Aamir Khan). The movie is being produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the husband-wife duo. The music of the film is being given by Ram Sampath. The musical score of Dhobi Ghaat is composed by Argentinian composerGustavo Santaolalla.
With this unique concept, Aamir and team will try to get the ‘Dhobi Ghat’ shine once again on big silver screen very soon. Normally the Ghat has been a popular location for our Indian Film directors, but for last few decades we have seen a mild attraction towards this destination. Aamir and team has some how got the permission to shoot at this location after a long gap. Thanks to civic authorities for considering an option to revive the shooting location. For making of Dhobi Ghat, Br. Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to again develop the ghat (currently surrounded by filth, over flowing drains and clumsy old buildings) as a prime shooting location as well as a tourist attraction after the completion of the movie.
Hope, the Dhobi Ghat with wash out our eyes with entertainment soon…

Keep watching this space for more updates.
