My heart is like an open highway, I did it my way, I just want to live while I’m alive

Long distance driving has never been my cup of tea. But my recent trip and first trip from Delhi to Jaipur via road had been a memorable one.Driving on a highway is a unique experience especially if you are in India. You get to see the rural india and topography closely.

Life on both sides of highway is quiet different from what we see in city. Having lived in cosmopolitan city all my life it was always going to be a different from the start.

One-liner funny quotes rear of truck makes your trip even better. Some of the quotes which I came across during my recent visit are like:

“Jalne wale tere bachche jiyen,
Bade hokar tera khoon piye”

“Buri nazar wale tera muhn kala” — Famous line

“No Whisky, No War, Only Pyaar”

“Maa ka ashirwaad!”

NH-8, which connect Delhi to Jaipur, is good in patches. The best is when you are crossing Gurgaon. The road is wide and sign boards well placed in sight wherever there is diversion.

Anyone driving for the first time can travel with ease without losing direction. You can cover the distance of 275 km in just 4-5 hours if you can plan your drive and cross traffic prone areas before peak hours start.

Driving on a highway requires concentration, patience, self-control and discipline, alertness both mentally and physically for a long period of time. If you are driving alone then its become even difficult 😦 Driving within bigger city (like Delhi) end to end takes only 2 hours at max but you have signals, traffic to keep you alert. Highways don’t have signals you are at the mercy of truck and heavy vehicles.

Long distance journey has many things in common to life. Which is aptly described in the Bon Jovi’s song – Its my life.

The road to success is not straight.
There is a curve called Failure,
A loop called Confusion,
Speed bumps called Friends,
Red lights called Enemies,
Caution lights called Family,
You will have flats called Jobs,
But, if you have a spare called Determination,
An engine called Perseverance,
Insurance called Faith,
A driver called God,

You will make it to a place called Success.
Thanks for reading and wish you all a very successful journey in life !!
